5 THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT CHIMNEY INSPECTIONS
- Don't use your fireplace for 24-48 before inspection so it is cool to the touch. Clear your mantle and firebox for ease of access. Move or drape furniture that is near the fireplace, ensuring clear access for our professionals, tools and equipment. Let us know if you have any concerns or have had any issues, including improper smoke ventilation, foul odors or efficiency concerns. Now is a great time to ask questions as well!
- A chimney should be inspected once before buying a home and then at least once a year for as long as you own your home
- A complete chimney inspection should include the firebox or flue, the creosote build up level and any blockages, and will also include the status of the structure, any leaks, cracks and stability issues
- Chimney inspections should only be done by a knowledgeable and experienced person who knows what to look for. You can trust Clean-Rite Chimney Sweep to provide the best chimney inspections for your home
- If your chimney inspection results in additional work that needs to be done, we will discuss it with you and do the work the same day, time and parts permitting, or we may need to schedule for a follow-up appointment.
